What makes PHAF different from other freight companies?

Most operators either process freight or deliver it. PHAF does both. Our own team receives your cargo off the aircraft at Port Hedland Airport and our own vehicles run it to site, so there is one operator and one chain of responsibility from uplift to signature. Nothing is handed to a third party in the middle.

How much does a delivery cost?

Indicative rates, excluding GST, effective August 2026. Van deliveries inside Port Hedland, South Hedland, Wedgefield: 80 dollars up to 20 kg, 110 dollars for 20 to 50 kg and 150 dollars over 50 kg during standard hours (Monday to Friday, 08:00 to 17:00). After hours those become 150, 250 and 350 dollars. A local truck delivery is 400 dollars, regional distance is 3 dollars per kilometre and urgent priority handling adds 100 dollars. What counts as after hours?

Standard hours are Monday to Friday, 08:00 to 17:00. Anything outside that window, including weekends, public holidays and overnight callouts, is charged at the after hours rate. We still run outside those hours, call the office on 08 9140 1111 and we will confirm what we can cover.

Do you deliver to mine sites and how is that priced?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Door to door delivery is included inside Port Hedland, South Hedland, Wedgefield. Anything further afield, mine sites, Karratha, Newman, Marble Bar, stations and remote communities, is quoted as a regional run at 3 dollars per kilometre on top of the base rate, or arranged as a dedicated job. Tell us the exact site and we will confirm the run.

What is next flight out and what does it cost?

Next flight out means we get your consignment onto the earliest available aircraft rather than the next scheduled service. Priority handling adds 100 dollars to the job. For anything where equipment is down, call the office on 08 9140 1111 first so we can start moving while the paperwork catches up.

How fast can you get freight to site?

Accepted Answer

Same day is our normal mode of work inside Port Hedland, South Hedland, Wedgefield, and we quote against today's operational window rather than a generic transit time. Air uplift depends on the flight schedule and available capacity, so book early where you can and call the urgent line on 08 9140 1111 when it is a breakdown. We will confirm the realistic window before you commit.

How do I book a pickup?

Use the booking form. It walks through pickup and delivery addresses, service level, cargo details and your contact, then lands straight in the operations queue where our team confirms capacity and pricing. If it is urgent, book and then call the office on 08 9140 1111 so we can prioritise it.

What details do you need to quote a job?

Accepted Answer

Pickup and delivery addresses, the service level you need, approximate weight and dimensions, what the cargo is, and when it needs to be there. If it is dangerous goods, refrigerated or oversized, tell us up front so we allocate the right vehicle and paperwork.

Our home ground is Port Hedland and the wider Pilbara. Door to door delivery is included in Port Hedland, South Hedland, Wedgefield, and we run regional jobs out to mine sites, stations, remote communities and other Pilbara towns as dedicated or per kilometre runs. Air freight connects Port Hedland with the rest of Western Australia through our carrier partners.

Which carriers do you work with?

We interface with the majors moving freight into the Pilbara, including Qantas Freight, Virgin Cargo, Toll, StarTrack, TNT, FedEx, Australia Post, Centurion, TGE and Jetpets. When their freight lands at Port Hedland, we receive it, process it and deliver it on our own vehicles.

Use the tracking page, or the tracker on the right hand side of the homepage hero. It accepts a PHAF reference (for example B2608-4K7QP) or a carrier tracking number from partners such as Qantas Freight, Virgin Cargo, Toll, StarTrack, TNT, FedEx, Australia Post, Centurion, TGE and Jetpets. Signed in clients also see the full chain of custody timeline in the client portal.

Where do I find my PHAF reference number?

It is on your booking confirmation and on every update we send, and it looks like B2608-4K7QP. Any carrier tracking number from a partner also works in the tracker. If you cannot find either, the operations desk can look it up from your company name and pickup date.

Question 13

Do I get proof of delivery?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Every movement is documented, and delivery is captured against the consignment so you have a clean audit trail. Proof of delivery and other job documents are available in the client portal alongside the chain of custody timeline for that job.

What does single chain of custody actually mean?

Accepted Answer

It means one operator holds your freight from start to finish, with a documented handover at each step: booked, uplifted, received at our depot, loaded for delivery, delivered and signed. Because we own both the airport processing and the road delivery, there is no third party gap where accountability disappears.

Question 15

Can you carry dangerous goods?

Accepted Answer

Tell us what the goods are, the UN class and the packaging before you book. Dangerous goods are handled in line with the carrier and regulatory requirements that apply to the specific class and mode, and some items cannot travel by air at all. The operations desk will confirm what is possible for your consignment rather than guess.

Do you handle refrigerated or temperature sensitive freight?

Yes. We move cold chain capable air freight for perishables, medical supplies and other temperature sensitive cargo, managed in line with compliance requirements. Flag the temperature range when you book so the right handling and storage is allocated on arrival.

Can you hold my freight at the depot?

Accepted Answer

Yes. The first 48 hours of storage at our depot are free, which covers most cases where a site is not ready to receive. Beyond that we will quote storage rather than let it sit unmanaged. Let us know the expected release date when you book.

Question 18

What if the site has inductions or restricted access?

Accepted Answer

Tell us the site requirements when you book: gate times, induction, PPE, escort or receiving contact. Our crews run to Pilbara mine site and industrial expectations, and we would rather set the delivery window around your access rules than have a truck turned away at the gate.

Can you move oversized or heavy items?

Accepted Answer

We run vans through to trucks, so local truck work is priced from 400 dollars and larger movements are quoted as dedicated jobs. Send dimensions, weight and any lifting requirements and we will confirm the right vehicle and whether it travels by road or air.

What can I do in the client portal?

Accepted Answer

Sign in to see your booking history, the chain of custody timeline for each job, job documents such as proof of delivery, invoices and card payments. Your team can be added so several people in the same company see the same freight.

Question 21

How do I pay an invoice?

Accepted Answer

Invoices are available in the client portal and can be paid online by card, Apple Pay or Google Pay. Each invoice is printable for your records and ties back to the specific jobs it covers.

Can we set up a business account or contract rates?
